When the battle is over Lord Irya thanks me for helping and then we head back for the castle.
The caravan is made up mostly of caravan guards, but there are also some higher level Khergit.
I don’t wait long though as a caravan appears within our sights and some of the Nords head off to attack it, I decide to join them. The Nords are besieging this castle so I decide to wait around. A quick bit of sparring to bring the new recruits up to speed and then I go looking for any castles that may be being besieged. This is a large amount of money, and as I have no other plans for my prisoner I agree, no word yet on my other prisoner. I receive a message, apparently the Kherigt are ready to talk terms and they offer me 1600 denars for one of their Lords that I hold prisoner. Soon we have enough men to be able to head back for Khergit territory, we travel through this pass in the mountains, the Rhodok have a castle there but no-one comes out to stop me. After selling my prisoners and some bits and pieces we picked up we carry on recruiting. They don’t prove very difficult however and soon I’m safely on my way, I even managed to pick-up a few coins from one of the attackers.
This time there are three of them and they start out much closer, looks like I’ll need to switch to my mace. Heavy with prisoners we head for Dhirim, but once again on my way through the town I’m attacked. We travel around for a while, slowly building up our numbers, another group of forest bandits fancies that they can beat us, once again we show them the error of their ways. Because the odds were so close and yet we came out the clear victors, morale takes a nice boost, she is especially pleased with Bunduk’s performance. Katrin wants to have a word with me after the battle, and for once it’s not a complaint. I make a note of this and plan to take on more parties that are nearer our size, I shall be a vassal in no time. I notice a message scroll past, apparently I gained renown for that battle, the more difficult the odds the more renown you get. We fortunately win, taking no real casualties, as a bonus we capture quite a few of the bandits. Being pretty close to the mountains the battlefield has many large hills, one divides out two parties. I’ll need to work especially hard to save my men.
Now I need to rebuild my party, whilst travelling to a nearby village we run into a large group of Forest bandits. After yesterday’s fiasco, the remainder of my party made it safely to Praven.
